Satirical Form of Local Newspapers

There are many limits to local newspapers:

As this link shows; local newspapers can be satirised. The link above shows the send up of what local newspapers are like. The articles do not correspond with the pictures. An example of this is the headline; 'Shop for House bargain nearby.' There is then a picture of a large house nearby which lots of people would not be able to afford.

Even adverts on the page are satirised, one even advertises 'Local Gangsters' in the area. The form and style of the paper is similar to that of a local newspaper but it plays on the fact that local papers are aimed at an older audience. This can be seen in the main story which is set out in a bland way with complicated sentences.

The form is old; the newspaper as a form is old and dying but the content is alive as it is all the news content of the newspaper. I have adressed this issue in my project by having articles that are exciting and interesting and stories that directly adress my core audience.
